The Southeastern and Southwestern Injury Prevention Network in partnership with the Safe States Alliance presents a new webinar series on safe infant sleep. This series will explore the topic through the lens of the Multi-Sectoral Influences Matrix, a tool that helps broadly scope programs and meaningfully engage the full spectrum of partners and perspectives that are affected by an intervention developed by Dr. Carolyn Cumpsty-Fowler.

In the second webinar in the series, participants will learn about Tennessee’s approach to safe sleep and get ideas about how to apply their approach in your own community. Tennessee has had a great deal of success with their safe infant sleep programming. In their work, they have worked with hospitals, parents, providers, and the business community to implement a multi-faceted prevention campaign that has shown positive results. Importantly, these results are known because each arm of the program has included an evaluation that captures what and how the work was done, as well as its impact.

Presenters:
Rachel Heitmann, MS, Section Chief, Injury Prevention and Detection, Tennessee Department of Health
April Kincaid, MPH, Program Director, Child Fatality Review, Tennessee Department of Health
