This is the second part of a new project designed to enhance skills around policy development and analysis called the Injury Policy Opportunities Project (IPOP), offered by the Injury Prevention Research Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The IPOP will focus on opioid overdose. IPOP consists of two webinars open to everyone, and an additional webinar and in-person workshop open only to those who enroll.
In the two webinars open to everyone, participants will gain an understanding of the changing landscape of opioid overdose, the rise of this public health epidemic, the current burden, and the different governmental, nonprofit, and advocacy groups involved in this complex issue. Participants will learn effective strategies for preventing and reducing opioid overdoses. The third webinar and workshop, attendees will gain skills to help them effectively employee these strategies for significant public health change.
