Strategies from the Child Safety Collaborative Innovation and Improvement Network
Thursday, May 11, 2017
3:00 - 4:00 PM Eastern Time
The Child Safety Collaborative Innovation and Improvement Network (CS CoIIN) uses continuous quality improvement, shared metrics, and real-time data to enable states and jurisdictions to implement and spread evidence-based child safety practices and programs. This webinar will explain the purpose and methodology of the CS CoIIN and describe innovative approaches and lessons learned from the CS CoIIN's first cohort. The webinar will be led by CS CoIIN staff in the Children's Safety Network, and CS CoIIN participants from Vermont and Indiana will share their experiences and strategies. Indiana's CS CoIIN team members will discuss their efforts to implement electronic check-up forms for child passenger safety inspections and the benefits and challenges encountered throughout this process. Vermont's CS CoIIN team members will discuss the development and implementation of a pilot project at a community hospital to determine the feasibility of screening for suicide risk in the emergency department and to improve coding for suicidal ideation and intentional and undetermined injuries.
