BACKGROUND

Injuries are the leading cause of death for people ages 1-44 in the United States and the third leading cause of death for Americans overall. Injuries and violence have a significant impact on the overall health of Americans including premature death, disability, and an increased burden placed on the health care system.

 

However, despite the existence of prevention strategies that have been proven effective, each year there are:
