2014 Safe States Hill Day

Wednesday, April 2, 2014

Engage and educate your Congressional leaders about

the value of injury and violence prevention!

Hill Day is an exciting opportunity to meet with Congressional members and their staff to brief them on injury and violence-related issues and educate them about important prevention activities taking place in your state.

Although "Hill Day” occurs on one day, you can educate your policymakers all month (or all year) long!

You can support Safe States Hill Day in five (5) easy ways:

  1. Request an at home visit with your Congressional member's staff in the district office (see page 14 of the Congressional Outreach Guide for information on how to do this)
  2. Invite your Congressional member to see your program in action or speak at an event (see page 10 of the Congressional Outreach Guide for information on how to do this)
  3. Write a Letter to the Editor or share your success story with the local media (see page 15 of the Congressional Outreach Guide for information on how to do this)
  4. Participate in a webinar to learn how to implement tips from the 2014 Congressional Outreach Guide to better engage your Congressional members
  5. Tell us how you supported Safe States Hill Day in April 2014!
