State of the States: 2011 Report

Now in its fourth iteration, the 2011 report continues to serve as the only national assessment of capacity among state public health injury and violence prevention programs. The 2011 report features the most up-to-date and comprehensive information available about state injury and violence prevention programs in the United States, including their structures, organization, people, resources, and work. The State of the States: 2011 Report builds on and makes comparisons between data and national trends published in previous State of the States reports from 2005, 2007, and 2009. However, new in 2011, you will find: Greater detail about the funding sources utilized by state injury and violence prevention programs to accomplish their work; More graphics vividly illustrating key findings from the data; and An interactive State of the States website providing clear and quick access to report findings.

State of the States: 2005-2009 Core Funding Report

This report – a sub-analysis of the State of the States: 2009 Report – compares specific capacity measures of Core funded and non-Core funded state injury and violence prevention programs. It explores the relationship between core funding and the characteristics of state programs in 2009, with comparisons to 2005 and 2007. In comparing measures associated with these core components, the differences the between states with and without Core funding can be more clearly recognized.

State of the States:  2009 Report 

A follow-up to the landmark 2005 and 2007 State of the States reports, the State of the States: 2009 Report continues to be the only national assessment of its kind and provides an update of comprehensive, national-level data on the status of state injury and violence prevention programs. The report provides achievements of state programs in 2009, details the challenges and opportunities that programs face, and gives direction for future improvement and growth.

The 2007 State of the States Report provides an update of comprehensive, national-level data on the status of state injury and violence prevention programs.


 

2005 State of the States Highlights Report

The 2005 State of the States Survey: Highlights Report presents major findings from Safe States Alliance’s inaugural assessment of capacity among state injury and violence prevention programs in the U.S. The survey was administered in the first half of 2006 to collect data on the status of programs in 2005.
