Injury and Violence Prevention Workforce Development Strategic Plan

Goals & Strategies for FY 2015 - 2019

GOALS & STRATEGIES

The strategic plan has five goals that address the demand, supply, access, quality, and sustainability of IVP workforce development.

  • GOAL 1: Demand. Increase the demand for IVP workforce development.
  • GOAL 2: Supply. Increase the number of cross-cutting, competency- and evidence-based IVP workforce development opportunities that are widely available at national, state, tribal, and local levels.
  • GOAL 3: Access. Explore strategies for establishing a central clearinghouse (or multiple “hubs”) for cross-cutting, competency- and evidence-based IVP workforce development opportunities that are widely available at national, state, tribal, and local levels.
  • GOAL 4: Quality. Assure quality in the supply of new and/or existing IVP workforce development opportunities.
  • GOAL 5: Sustainability. Leverage existing resources to support leveraged, revised and/or new IVP workforce development opportunities.

Partnerships and collaboration are a central and necessary component to making progress in all areas of the strategic plan through the expansion of cross-cutting collaboration with existing and new prevention partners around IVP workforce development at national, state, tribal, and local levels.

Each Goal includes recommended Strategies for working towards the Goal, as well as Suggested Next Steps for taking action.
