When determining how to address some of the most pressing population health outcomes such as suicide and ACEs, there is an abundance of evidence that points to utilizing a Shared Risk and Protective Factors (SRPF) approach. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, several of the risk and protective factors for these health outcomes have been exacerbated and, moving forward, will likely require new and innovative approaches to mitigate or prevent worsened health outcomes. Systems Thinking is a well-known approach to tackling complex problems. A Systems Thinking approach can help us see connections between SRPF and a variety of outcomes that are of priority to our partners and stakeholders. During this webinar, systems thinking will be defined, and a variety of systems thinking tools will be introduced that can enable you to progress your prevention and/or response work to meet the evolving needs of your communities in times when we don’t have a blueprint. Presenters will also highlight key considerations when facilitating systems thinking work in a virtual format.

At the conclusion of the webinar, upcoming opportunities for technical assistance for those interested in applying the tools will be described.
