As part of a multi-year project to provide Academic Advisor Services to the IHS Injury Prevention Program, our team at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is announcing the process to collect manuscripts for articles to be included in an Injury and Violence Prevention (IVP) Special Issue of the Indian Health Service (IHS) Primary Care Provider, expected to be published in November 2019.

This is a Special Issue that shares information about injury- and violence-related topics that are relevant to the IHS, tribal, and urban Indian health care providers, as well as injury and violence prevention practitioners, policy-makers, and researchers.

If you are interested in submitting a manuscript for consideration in the IVP Special Issueincluding those that are in early or advanced stages of development, please complete and submit a brief online abstract at this link by May 17, 2019 (early submissions are encouraged).  Abstracts request the following information:

·      Contact information: Your name, title, affiliation/organization, address, phone number, and email address

·      Title: Proposed title of your article (you can include several “working” titles if you have not decided on a title at the time you submit your abstract)

·      Abstract: Briefly describe the focus of and 3-5 key points about your article (150-250 words)

·      Co-authors: List any co-authors that might contribute to your article

If your abstract is accepted, you will be invited to submit a first draft of your manuscript by July 22, 2019.  Draft manuscripts will be reviewed between July 22 and August 30, 2019.  You might be asked to address reviewers’ feedback and make edits, with one or more rounds of editing taking place during this time. After receiving feedback and comments from the reviewers and special issue editors, you will be asked to submit a final draft.
