CDC’s vision is, “No lives lost to suicide.” To reach this vision, CDC’s mission is to use data, science, and partnerships to identify and implement effective suicide prevention strategies that foster healthy and resilient communities across the United States.

Suicide prevention is especially important now, during the COVID-19 pandemic when people may be feeling disconnected, anxious, and stressed. It is particularly important to remain connected to each other and aware of the signs of suicide risk. CDC compiled information on coping with stress in healthy ways to help you, the people you care about, and your community.
