Scholarship Information

Unfortunately our scholarship application forms were spammed, so we are reopening the application for the Virtual Conference. We highly encourage those that previously applied to complete a new application form bellow.

The Safe States Alliance is committed to supporting and building the future injury and violence prevention workforce. A limited number of scholarships to attend the 2020 Virtual Annual Conference are available.

The 2020 Virtual Annual Conference will provide opportunities for professionals to network with injury and violence prevention professionals from state and local health departments, hospitals, universities, federal agencies, and private organizations; learn new evidence-based skills and strategies; and share their current work with peers in the field of injury and violence prevention.

Scholarship recipients must be able and willing to participate throughout our virtual conference. If given a scholarship, the attendee must agree to:

  • Attend the entire virtual conference September 9 -11

  • Actively participate within virtual presentation sessions (ie: asking questions in the chat box, answering poll questions asked by presenters, communicating with other virtual attendees in the session, etc)

  • Actively participate and sign up for learning labs

  • Reach out and connect with other attendees throughout the conference

  • Participate with Safe States staff in an online demo of our virtual conference platform prior to our virtual conference

We will prioritize: those active in their Safe States Alliance membership, students,  persons who have authored abstracts that have been accepted for presentation, and individuals representing states not currently funded through the CDC Core State Violence and Injury Prevention Program.

Scholarship Applications for the 2020 Virtual Conference will be accepted until July 17, 2020.
